G.H. 1.8

I think I have made a lot of progress with the violin. I haven't improved as much as I originally envisioned, but for the time frame I think I did okay. I was totally going to post a couple videos of the songs I have learned, but my phone is broke, and won't take videos, and the sound doesn't wok on it. Since that has happened to me, I think I will just put a couple seconds of each song on to my ted talk. For the most part I have liked this genius hour. It has pushed me to practice and go outside my comfort zone. I will continue to practice the two songs I have learned until the ted talk.

G.H. 1.7

This week I have been fine tuning my two pieces of music. They still don't sound as good as I would like them to, but I guess that's okay considering I only started learning them a few weeks ago. I hope I can get them to sound a little more smooth and clear. That is what I will  be working on this next week. Hopefully by next week I will feel a little more confident in what I have learned so far. I hope to post a few seconds of each song I have been practicing by next week so you can have an idea on what I have been working on. I'm glad I chose to get back into the violin, even though it makes me very frustrated at times. It's not my favorite instrument to play, which I think is part of the problem, but I'm glad I've stuck with it this long. Hopefully I can fine tune my two pieces a little more by next week.

G.H. 1.6

I did not make to much progress this week on the violin. I put off practicing a lot and I feel really bad about it, so next week I'll practice a lot more. In the little practice I did do, I sort of figured out a cheat way to do a vibrato. It's not the correct way to do it, and  it doesn't sound as nice as a real vibrato, but the slight variation in pitch is definitely there. Hopefully I can figure out how to do a real one sometime soon. As far as the music I'm learning is going, it's slow progress." Hedwig's Theme" is going a little better then "A Thousand Years". I still struggle on the notes and and bowing of '"A Thousand years", but "Hedwig's Theme" is sounding a lot smoother and is really starting to come together. It still doesn't sound as good as I want it to, but it is sounding better. I'm going to be working on "A Thousand Years" a lot more this week, so I can get it to sound a little mor...
