G.H. 2.3

Well this week I have continued to work on my scarf. I have completed two more rows, even though it doesn't look like it. My weekly goal was to complete at least two rows, which I did complete, but since my hook is really small and I crochet a lot tighter then my mom, I think I'm going to have to crochet more rows each week if I want to get done on time to start the headband. This project is forcing me to work on time management skills, which is something I need to work on. My goal for this next week is to focus on crocheting at least 15-30 minutes a day. Below are pictures of my crocheting hook and a little portion of my scarf. I'm really happy about the way the scarf is turning out, even if it is going to take a little more time then I originally thought.

Well this week's crocheting has been pretty productive. I have started on the scarf and I have completed almost three rows. It's going to take a while to complete the scarf because it is so long and takes a while to complete one row, especially because I am using a different sized hook that makes tighter/smaller stitches. I've lost patience a couple times with this new hook, because it's easier to skip a stitch without noticing, which causes it to have a hole so then I have to go back and fix it. It has forced me to be more patient and less critical of myself. Overall I've really enjoyed crocheting so far, and I think it's going to be a super useful tool for the future. It makes really good gifts and could save me some money in the future. I've also found it kind of relaxing, and fun to do while watching TV.

During Christmas break I got a head start on crocheting. I am scheduled to start crocheting a scarf this next week, and I figured I needed to know how to do some basic stitches before I start doing that, so I made a few things just to get some basic stitches down. The first thing I made was a washcloth, which is the multicolored one, on which I did a double crochet stitch. It wasn't the best, but I was pretty proud considering it was my first one. I made another washcloth with a different stitch, on which I was a lot happier about. The last thing I made was a hot pad, which was a single crochet. This took the longest time to make, and it ended up a little small so I ended up making another one. I plan on taking these things to college to use!
